Federal Jobs Career Day - What I found out

Friday, I went to the Federal Jobs Career Day at Rutgers - there were many federal employers there including the US Secret Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, US Attorney's Office, the NSA, Department of Commerce and many more.

If you want a list of what the employers were looking for - I have a list in my office. Please stop by during any drop in hours. They are list on the side of the blog page!

Some employers had internships and full time positions, while other were promoting SCEP programs - these are programs geared towards a students major - 640 hours of experience. Usually you have to be a sophomore to apply. How can you find out about SCEP? Go to usajobs.gov and set up a profile, visit makingthedifference.org and go to the departments website. Be vigilant.

SCEP programs are competative so you must have a passion for this type of work.

If you have questions, please make an appointment with The Career Center.

*The FBI and the DEA forensic lab will be on campus Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 4-5:30 in the Science and Technology Center Atrium*
