Teach For America Expands to 39 Regions

More than 8,200 Teach For America corps members are teaching in 39 regions across the country, impacting over 500,000 students in low-income communities. This year, four new regions have partnered with Teach For America to address educational inequity in their communities: Alabama; Detroit; Rhode Island; and San Antonio.

Spotlight on Rhode Island: When Rhode Island's charter corps of 30 began teaching in the highest-need schools this fall, they received a warm welcome from the state's commissioner of elementary and secondary education, Deborah Gist: "The single most important factor in the education of our students is the effectiveness of our teachers," she said. "I'm confident that Teach For America will provide us with wonderful, talented teachers and leaders for years to come." Learn more about our impact in all 39 regions »
