City Year is a non-profit organization that unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service, giving them the skills and opportunities to change the world. As tutors, mentors, and role models, these diverse young leaders make a difference in the lives of children and transform schools and neighborhoods across the United States. City Year is a proud member of AmeriCorps.Since its founding in 1988, City Year has grown to nineteen sites nationwide, with over 1500 corps members. Just as a "Junior Year" and "Senior Year" are standard components of a 17-24 years olds experience, so should a "City Year" be, because it provides real world experiences of incomparable value in terms of personal and professional development.
