The Obama Administration Hopes to Fill 50,000 to 60,000 Entry-level Jobs in the Next Year!

Steve Ressler, creator of GovLoop

As the baby-boomers step out of their federal positions, they are making room for 50,000 to 60,000 entry-level jobs in areas such as security, public health, and defense. One in three of the 142,690 federal workers hired last year was 29 or younger, while more than one in four were between 30 and 39 - and these new workers want to do better, and to do more, than their predecessors. The government, in its hope to compete with competitive programs that attract many bright and valuable college grads such as Teach for America, is hoping to hire people who are ready to institute change in a sector that is very used to the rules. A great example of these new and innovative ideas is GovLoop, created by Steve Ressler, which acts as a Facebook for the government!
